International Conference on SMART Automatics and Energy (SMART-ICAE) is dedicated to the discussion of today’s achievements and farsighted researches in the area of intellectual technology use for solving of real, applied tasks in various areas of industries and energy policies of nations. The conference is organized for the purpose of support of interdisciplinary discussion and publication of scientific-research results that summarizes researches in the technical sphere of knowledge at higher educational institutions, research institutes, major industrial enterprises, science and production unions of the Russian Federation, authors from foreign countries, and results of researches conducted with the initiative of authors.

The conference represents an informational platform for accumulation of expert opinion on projects and initiatives that are aimed at implementation of farsighted scientific research and development; it allows to present scientific and practical achievements to a wide circle of researchers.

The conference sections are of interest to a broad range of specialists in the sphere of development of new innovative solutions and organization of events that increase efficiency of application of energy technologies in their various manifestations. The conference is also interesting for engineering and sci-tech workers that are involved in development and adjustment of automation equipment and systems of management of technical electrified sights and informative-measuring devices for collecting, measuring and research of information on currents in electric-technical complexes and systems. It is also of high interest for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students enrolled in the following programs: “Power systems engineering and electrotechnics”, “Automatized systems”, “Managerial systems in power technologies”, etc.

The conference format implies presentations of papers in thematic sections with demonstration of presentation materials. The official languages are Russian and English.

Thematic sections


The Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU; international name – Far Eastern Federal University, FEFU) is one of the largest universities in the Russian Far East, an academic outpost of the country in the Asia-Pacific region. Keeping long-term scientific traditions and following the latest educational trends, we strive to become the best scientific and educational center of the APR. However, the conference venue is not limited to this. The conference is held jointly with partner universities, which provide additional platforms for organizing the conference.

At the same time, all audiences are connected by a teleconference that functions throughout the entire conference. Thanks to this technical innovation, the conference participants have the opportunity to communicate with each other remotely on-line. During the work of the jointly organized sections, the speakers take turns speaking from each of the sites. The conference participants present at the same time have the opportunity to ask questions to each other wherever they are. In addition, in the on-line mode, webcast of the work of the conference sections is also organized. Anyone can become a listener of the conference from anywhere in the world.

Russia, the largest country in the world, located in the Northern Hemisphere, occupies most of Eurasia. Common border with eighteen countries, including the United States and Japan by sea.

From west to east Russia stretches for 10 thousand kilometers, from north to south – about 4 thousand. The country has 11 time zones.

There are about 2.8 million rivers in Russia, of which the largest are the Volga, Yenisei, Lena, Ob and Amur. The largest lakes are Baikal, Ladoga, Onega and Taimyr.

Registration fee and important dates

– 200 Euros for foreign participants (payment after May 10, 2021 – 300 euros).
Travel, accommodation and food expenses are not included in the registration fee and are paid by the participants independently. Due to the currency fluctuation, the organizing committee has the rights to change the fee rates, yet not later than September 1, 2021.
The payment of the registration fee is accepted from both individuals and legal entities. The registration fee should be paid only after the notification about acceptance of the paper in the conference program, yet not later than September 30, 2021. Please note the paper will be published only after receipt of the registration fee.

Review process

SMART-ICAE papers are reviewed using a double-blind process managed through EasyChair. The reviewing process has three phases: bidding, reviewing, and discussion and metareviewing.

Reviewers are expected to provide high-quality reviews to provide authors with feedback that will help to improve the work for publication or for future submission. Conference  peer review committee (CPRC) lead the discussion among reviewers and metareview each paper, providing a recommendation and feedback to the program chairs.

Each paper submission is expected to receive tow reviews and a metareview, but this number is subject to change depending on the number of submissions and the number of reviewers and CPRC.

All paper submissions are anonymous. Reviewers and CPRC are and should remain anonymous to one another and to the authors of the submissions they review. When writing comments on a review during a discussion, please refer to yourself and other reviewers by the number of their review.

Reviewer and work CPRC timeline

The following dates describe the timeline for reviewer & CPRC work on SMART-ICAE. Note that the review period is just two and a half months.

All reviewers and CPRC are expected to engage with the process throughout the twelve weeks from Monday 5 April to Monday 5 July, as described below. Please consider your workload and other commitments around these dates before offering your services as a reviewer. Those who cannot commit to engagement throughout this period should not volunteer to be reviewers or CPRC for SMART-ICAE.
